It was great fun and egg-citing!
Today we were very lucky and went on an Easter egg hunt outside on the yard. We searched for choclate bunnies and Cadburys creme eggs. We had to search quickly before Mrs Bennett found them... as we know how much she loves chocolate too.
It was great fun and egg-citing! We all looked great ready for our Easter disco!

Today in Year 3 we all made Easter nests with shredded wheat, melted chocolate and mini eggs! They looked good and tasted even better.
Happy Easter! Practising our Welsh oracy on the IPADs. Take a listen......

Today we were lucky enough to be visited by Phil Williams from Planet-It Eco. We spent all morning learning more about the Rainforest and listening to all the fantastic stories about life in the Rainforest. Phil has spent over 18 years living around the world and spending lots of that time visiting Rainforests. We found out lots of new things and reinforced what we have been learning. He taught us about how important Rainforests are and that we should protect them.
This week we have been busy writing persuasive letters to send to help save the Rainforests and show our support. After today we are even more enthusiastic to send and email them to hopefully make a difference. A big thank you to Phil as both children and teachers thoroughly enjoyed. Mrs Bennett and Miss Fowler were extremely proud of their classes today for excellent listening and thinking skills, fantastic answers and questions, and for being respectful and enthusiastic throughout the morning. Today we have been finding the difference between two numbers and using a number line to do so. We did very well and enjoyed having a little help from our Year 6 friends!
Thank you Year 6, come and help us again soon! . On Friday we will be doing our bit to support Earth Hour by switching off all lights, computers and other electricity to support the campaign.
Earth Hour is a unique annual phenomenon that focuses the world’s attention on our amazing planet, and how we need to protect it. At 8.30pm on 23 March hundreds of millions of people will turn off their lights for one hour, on the same night, all across the world. Today we have been making our own bottled gardens. We collected plastic bottles and used these to make our garden. We worked in pairs and added stones, soil and a bedding plant. We then watered our gardens and closed them up. They are sitting safely on the window.
We are hoping that the water cycle does its job and that we do not have to water them. We will wait to find out what happens and if it works. We hope to plant these bedding plants in our class planter that is coming along very well! We have been learning about the water cycle. This week we have been finding out what happens to rain when it hits the ground. We tested different surfaces to explore what happens. We tested soil, sand, mud and stones. We found out that rain/water can be absorbed, it can run off, it can be taken up by plants and it can also evaporate. We also found out that different surfaces absorb water at different speeds and in different ways!
We have been learning to Salsa dance in P.E this week and had lots of fun learning some tricky steps.
Last week we wrote poems about Wales:
When I think of Wales I imagine red roaring dragons When I think of Wales I see bright yellow daffodils flowing in the fields When I think of Wales I hear everyone singing the Welsh National Anthem When I think of Wales I taste welsh cakes with sugar on top When I think of Wales I touch fluffy welsh corgis barking happily When I think of Wales I believe that Wales is the best Country in the World When I think of Wales I know that Wales is fun. By Mayah Lewis . When I think of Wales
I imagine lots of daffodils growing in the bright green grass When I think of Wales I see lovely warm Cawl in the shops When I think of Wales I hear Gareth Bale scoring goals in the stadium When I think of Wales I taste freshly made hot welsh cakes When I think of Wales I touch all of the wet leeks that no one has picked up yet When I think of Wales I believe Wales is the best place in the World When I think of Wales I know Wales has the best rugby players By Olivia Jade Jeremiah |
