This week we went outside and chalked around our bodies. We then used what we had been learning to draw on important body parts and main organs. They looked great and helped us to remember key functions and parts.
We carried out a P4C enquiry and expressed our thoughts and opinions. We all enjoyed using decision lines when playing would you rather? Yesterday we found out about our blood. We found out how much blood is in our bodies and calculated how many bottles of juice would be the equivalent. (Thank you Mrs Fuge for letting us borrow the juice). We then found out about red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. We looked at what they do to keep us healthy and the job of the plasma. We modelled how our blood works to help us remember through practical games and activities. This week we have been busy finishing our flip flap bodies, locating and making important body parts. They look great! Today Year 3 enjoyed learning netball skills and playing team building games. Everyone enjoyed learning different passes and the rules of the game. William came back to Year 3 today to showcase his new talent. We all watched in amazement..... Well done William, come back and show us again soon, when you beat your time! Today in year 3 we have been learning about how our body works. We compared our bodies to a car and discussed the different parts of our body which keep us alive, and the different parts to a car which make it work. It has been a busy week in the Year 3 class, with everyone settling very well in the Junior department. Mrs Bennett has enjoyed getting to know everyone and finally on Friday she is remembering everyone's names....hooray!! |
